Hub Schools: How are Rural teachers Trained?

From October 10 to November 1, seminars for teachers from 16 regions of Kazakhstan are being held under the project “Development of the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas”.

The training is organized on the basis of intellectual schools in Almaty, Astana, Turkestan, Atyrau, Semei, Kokshetau, as well as in Atyrau colleges and IT Lyceum School No. 7 in Turkestan.
More than 400 rural teachers attended these seminars. The program is aimed at studying methods and techniques to achieve educational goals in 13 subjects.
“This year, 56 hub schools are being trained. Our main goal is not only to provide new methods, but also to help teachers develop skills in the effective use of modern educational technologies, creating a more dynamic and engaging environment for students,” Yekaterina Vyushkova, the expert at the Center for Educational Programs of NIS JSC says.
In Astana, seminars are intended for teachers of the eastern and northern regions.
“Our school has become one of the hub schools this year, and we are already using all the possibilities in the lessons. During the training, we deepened our knowledge of academic subjects, worked on setting goals and studied the experience of specialists. We were shown how to implement research approaches and methods in practice. We will definitely use this valuable knowledge in our work,” Zheniskul Zharkynbayeva, the primary school teacher from Kostanai region says.
It is important to note that the Center for Educational Programs regularly updates knowledge, discoveries and international experience in the field of education.
“In the modern world, where everything is constantly changing, a constant search and updating of knowledge is necessary. Therefore, the support and development of teachers in such conditions is of great importance,” Altyngul Tolegenkyzy, the manager of the Center for Educational Programs emphasizes.
Recall, that this year 56 rural schools in Kazakhstan have connected to the hub schools network. The project “Development of the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas”, launched in 2022, aims to reduce the gap in the quality of education between rural and urban schools. The operator of the project is the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, the sponsors are the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund and the AITAS holding. The general partner of the project is Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO, which has undertaken academic support.
