Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education
The Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education implements the Projects in the field of education and enlightenment which help to ensure access to quality education of varying degrees regardless of the status, age and territorial affiliation of a person.

The "Qazaqstan halkyna" Fund, the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools signed a Memorandum under which a grant of KZT 4.25 billion was allocated for the charitable educational Projecton Developing the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas on July 14, 2022.
The Project is implemented by the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education supported by the Partners and Sponsors.
What is "Rural School powered by NIS"?
Our goal is to cover all of 164 regions of the country by 2026 and we are opened for cooperation with strategic partners and sponsors. In its work, the Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education adheres to the principles of consistency and clarity.
With the support of the "Qazaqstan halkyna" Fund, the FSDE will be able to scale the Project from 5 to 22 schools and implement transformations in new areas of the country. These are 17 hub educational institutions that will be improved according to the Fund’s strategic plan.
*The Program is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Y.Altynsarin National Academy of Education.
We are a Non-Profit Project to reduce the gap in the quality of education between the city and the rural which includes two areas: improving the skills of teachers and updating the material base of rural schools.
Improving the quality of rural education contributes to slowing down the outflow of human capital from rural areas and provides a basis for sustainable development throughout the country.
Program Development Strategy
Today we work in 86 schools in villages and single-industry towns, we plan to cover all single-industry towns and villages in Kazakhstan
until the end of 2024.

    The school was included in the Project in 2019. 100% of teachers completed advanced training courses some of them completed internships at NIS schools.

    As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, elementary grades, engineering workshops, culinary workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.

    The school launched the work of a greenhouse, a hydroponic installation as well as a FABLab (digital laboratory).

    The quality of education has risen from 61% to 69% over the period of the Project implementation.

    The school was included in the Project in 2019. 100% of teachers completed advanced training courses some of them completed internships at NIS schools.

    As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, engineering workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.
    The quality of knowledge has increased from 60.9% in 2019 to 70% in 2022.

    The number of winners of Regional and Republican Olympiads has more than doubled.

    Lastayev Secondary School, Katon-Karagay village, East-Kazakhstan region
    The school was included in the Project in 2019. 100% of teachers completed advanced training courses some of them completed internships at NIS schools.

    As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, elementary grades, engineering workshops, culinary workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.
    The school has classes in folk music, children’s theater as well as a table tennis training program is launched. The school ensemble received the Grand Prix at the International Competition of Folk Ensembles in Almaty in 2022.

    A partial mechanism of project-based learning is being implemented. For example, making animated cartoons (6th Form students), sewing clothes and bags (7th-8th Form students), making fishing gears (5th Form students), a modern method of learning the alphabet for the 0th Form students (2nd Form student), etc.

    A major overhaul of the school building was carried out at the expense of budgetary funds in 2019.

    The school was included in the Project in 2021. 100% of teachers completed advanced training courses some of them completed internships at NIS schools.

    As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, elementary grades, engineering workshops, culinary workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.

    The school has classes in folk music, Puppet Theater as well as a table tennis training program is launched.

    The school has a school of scouts.

    The quality of education has increased from 69% to 75% over the period of the Project implementation.

    The school was included in the Project in 2019. 100% of teachers completed advanced training courses some of them completed internships at NIS schools.

    As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, elementary grades, engineering workshops, culinary workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.

    A table tennis school is operated; Project work has been launched among students on the basis of renovated classrooms and workshops.

    A major overhaul of the school building was carried out at the expense of budgetary funds in 2019.
    The number of winners of National and International Olympiads has almost doubled from 65 to 126 students.

    The quality of education has increased from 59% to 65% over the period of the Project implementation.

    The Company provides the supply of educational equipment and educational solutions to the schools participating in the Project; it is a Member of the Worlddidac and Kazdidac Associations.
    "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" AEO
    Since 2021, the Company has periodically provided free books and educational materials for schools participating in the Rural School Project in order to gradually update the library fund of rural schools.
    The NIS AEO acts in the Project as a strategic Partner providing the organization of school diagnostics, methodological support for the Project, advanced training courses for teachers and post-project support for the school.

    The Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund, the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools signed a Memorandum under which a grant of KZT 4.25 billion was allocated for the charitable educational Project on Developing the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas.
    Beeline — Mobile Operator
    Beeline Kazakhstan allocated KZT 2 billion from the funds received for the Rural School powered by NIS Project in the framework of cooperation with the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund. Another 8 schools joined the Project thanks to this contribution.
    "AITAS" Holding
    AITAS Holding and its Founder, Mr. Serik Tolukpayev initiated the Rural School powered by NIS Project in 2019 allocating KZT 1 billion for the modernization of the first 5 schools in Katon-Karagay, Bulandy and Ulan districts. AITAS continues to fund the administrative costs of the Project in all schools participating in the Program.
