On February 15, 2023, the presentation of the updated Kuiken school in Beineu village has taken place, which has been included in the project “Development of the Hub School Potential in Rural Areas” and received the support of Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund.
Through the project, the material and technical base of the educational institution has been completely updated, and the teachers of the school are trained and receive methodology from NIS specialists.

The project results have been presented during the event in the Open Day format, where the organizers told about the results of the training program and held a presentation of the updated educational institution.
A complete renovation of the material and technical base was carried out at the school: 40 classrooms, a library, technology workshops were equipped. In addition, the school now has a professional mobile school TV studio, a STEM laboratory, and an ART studio. All this will allow the school to successfully transfer the experience to the magnetic schools of the district in the future.
The work on updating the material and technical base was carried out with the sponsorship of the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund in the amount of KZT249 825 000.
“Today there is a gap between rural and urban schools, the decline in the quality of education is especially reflected in rural areas. For a systematic and comprehensive solution of this issue, the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund, together with partners, has decided to develop rural hub schools that will become competence centers and will contribute to improving the quality of teaching in other schools. Within the framework of the program “Development of the Hub School Potential in Rural Areas”, we equip and provide methodological support to 17 rural hub schools so that in the future the acquired knowledge and skills can be transferred to other underfilled schools where there are problems with the material and technical base and personnel,” Lazzat Chinkisbayeva, Deputy CEO of Kazakhstan Khalkyna Public Fund, noted.
The Education Sustainable Development Fund and specialists of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO have analyzed the educational environment and the quality of teaching at school. The results will be used to develop recommendations for the development of the school as a hub.
NIS AEO and its structural subdivisions continue to work with the teaching staff of the school, conduct training courses on subjects and organize internships for rural teachers in order to train to work on updated equipment.
Additionally, the advanced training courses required for teachers were identified. As part of the project, an internship program for teachers of hub rural schools was launched on the basis of the school of NIS in Karaganda. Internships were conducted during the vacation period, and will be continued as the project is implemented.
On October 31 and November 01, 2022, a 2-day offline training course has been held on the basis of NIS in Kokshetau, on the topic “Formation of the Functional Literacy of Pupils” among teachers of all subjects. Courses in 14 school subjects for subject teachers were held by trainers of the republican Educational Programs Center ( Astana) and trainers-teachers of NIS in Kokshetau.

The intensive training program with engagement of the trainers for the teaching staff will be held until February 2023. After the intensive program completion, the school will switch to three-year methodological support until 2025.
The training and methodology are provided by NIS specialists free of charge, and the costs of administrative and organizational measures are compensated by sponsorship funds of AITAS Holding.

Daniyar Toktarbayev, Director of the Education Sustainable Development Fund, told about the plans of the Fund and thanked the participants for their attention to the project.
“I am sure that today, together with our sponsors and partners, we are implementing the project that is really important for the country. More than 40% of Kazakhstani children study in rural areas, and it is important to give them the opportunity to get a quality education and discover their talents. Our project has already affected the lives of 13 thousand children, but this is just the beginning. We plan to cover all regions of the country and hope to have a serious impact on the quality of rural education,” Daniyar Toktarbayev said.
