Strategic Session of Education Sustainable Development Fund to Have Held in Astana

The Fund summed up the results of work in 2022 and discussed plans for 2023.
Last year, the Fund did a lot of work on two educational projects. As part of the project “Rural School Powered by NIS”, five schools were continued to be equipped at the expense of the general sponsor – Aitas Holding and its founder, Serik Tolukpaev. The third stage of the project included updating the material and technical base of primary school classrooms and geography.
“This year, it is planned to purchase equipment for additional education classrooms according to the needs of schools. These are primarily STEM laboratories, art studios and pottery workshops. In addition, Marsekov school of Ulan district will receive updated classrooms for primary classes and geography,” Syrym Kaisarbekov, the project manager added.
The second educational project of the Fund - “Development of the Hub School Potential in Rural Areas” - was implemented with the support of the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund, which was also donated by Beeline Kazakhstan. The project has covered 17 regions of Kazakhstan and has already shown good results, in connection with which the leadership of both Funds and Nazarbayev intellectual Schools plan to cover 62 more rural schools of the country this year.
Also, the portfolio of the Education Sustainable Development Fund has been replenished with new projects aimed at motivating students and teachers, improving the quality of non-formal education, as well as external evaluation of the quality of teaching.
“This year we have also increased the number of partner projects. We will act as co-organizers of the largest EdCrunch conference, the official partner of the Roboland robotics festival. Now our specialists are already studying the experiments of schools on building their own greenhouses,” Daniyar Toktarbayev, Director of the Fund, said.
In addition, this year it is planned to change the composition of the Board of Trustees of the Fund, as well as the creation of an expert council.
