Another 63 Rural Schools in Kazakhstan to Become Hub Schoold until the End of 2023

The Fund for Sustainable Development of Education (FSDE), the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools announce the launch of the second stage of the project “Development of the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas”. This year 63 schools will take part in the project, thus the project will cover 80 districts of the country.
In 2022, the project “Development of the Potential of Hub Schools” was launched in Kazakhstan. The project, which brought together business, the state and society, is aimed at reducing the gap in the quality of education between the city and the countryside. In addition, its goal is to introduce the best pedagogical practices and techniques and provide support schools with the necessary material and technical base.
Following the first stage of the project, classrooms were completely renovated in 17 district schools, teachers took intensive training courses at the Center for Pedagogical Excellence of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, and the level of education was monitored.

In 2023, the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund has allocated KZT15.750 billion for the second stage of the project, which will be used to equip more than 2,000 classrooms in 63 participating schools. Schools have been determined by the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education together with the authorized body to participate in the project.
“Before the start of the educational program, incoming monitoring will be carried out in each school and an intensive training program will be determined, which is created depending on the strengths of teachers and students of schools. Further, during the year, training courses and exchange of experience for teachers of rural schools will be held on the basis of regional NIS,” the FSDE explained.
Further, within three years, NIS will carry out work on methodological support of schools, and at the end of each year, measurements will be made – monitoring of the level of education for 4th and 8th grades.

In addition to subject rooms, modern STEM laboratories, TV studios will appear in schools, where students will be able to create creative videos and shoot cartoons, workshops, as well as robotics classrooms.

It is worth noting that the operating expenses of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education are covered by AITAS holding and its founder Serik Tolukpayev. Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools conduct an educational program free of charge, and the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund covers the costs of equipping schools.

Following the implementation of the second stage, 45 thousand rural children will be educated in schools that, in terms of teacher skills, content and equipment, are in no way inferior to the best urban schools.
“This is another step towards creating a network of rural hub schools in Kazakhstan, which will serve as resource centers for neighboring schools and will become a point of development of education in the district,” the head of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, Daniyar Toktarbayev, assured.
