About the school
KSU “Makinsk City Gymnasium” was founded in 1965. The current school building was commissioned in 1987. The school has a project capacity of 1200 seats. Education is provided in Kazakh and Russian languages with a focus on natural sciences and mathematics. Classes operate in two shifts.
The school has 1067 students and employs 93 teachers, including:
– 1 master teacher
– 18 research teachers
– 27 expert teachers
– 9 moderator teachers
– 25 teachers without category
Under the "Vseobuch" program, 96 students receive support.
Since 2019, the school has been part of the “Rural School Powered by NIS” project. 100% of teachers have completed professional development courses, and some have undergone internships at NIS schools. As part of the project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, informatics, robotics, primary education, engineering, culinary arts, arts and crafts, and the library have been updated.
A greenhouse, a hydroponic system, and a FABLab (digital lab) have been launched at the school.

Progress
As part of the Project, classrooms for physics, chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and logic, computer science, robotics, elementary grades, engineering workshops, culinary workshops, art handicraft and a library were updated.
The school launched the work of a greenhouse, a hydroponic installation as well as a FABLab (digital laboratory).
The quality of education has risen from 61% to 69% over the period of the Project implementation.
