Secondary School-Lyceum No. 250 named after Taimbet Komekbayev

About the school


The school was originally opened in 1903 as a “Parish School.” In 1976, it became Secondary School No. 250 under the Karmakshy District Education Department. In 2010, it gained the status of “school-lyceum,” and in 2015, it was named after Hero of the Soviet Union and “Warrior of the Century,” Taimbet Komekbayev.
Since 2015, the school has been included among the region’s innovative schools, introducing new approaches and technologies to education.

With a history spanning more than 100 years, the school moved into a new 1,200-seat building in 2009 as part of the national “100 Schools and 100 Hospitals” program. Currently, the school educates 1,357 students, exceeding its design capacity of 1,200 seats.


Material and Technical Base:
The educational process is organized in specialized classrooms, including laboratories for physics, chemistry, and biology, computer science rooms, an electronic library, and interactive educational spaces.
Workshops for metal and wood processing for boys and a sewing workshop for girls are provided to develop practical skills.


The school is equipped with modern technologies, an autonomous heating system, and centralized water supply. Comfortable conditions are created for all students, including an adapted environment for children with special educational needs.

Progress

The school team and students have consistently demonstrated success in various competitions.
In 2021, the school was awarded the title “Creative Team of the Year,” in 2022 – “Best New Ideas” at the district level, and “Team Spirit of the Year – 2022” at the regional level.

  • In the 2024–2025 academic year, 8 teachers received prizes in various professional competitions, while 18 teachers shared their experience at regional and national levels.

  • 9 students became prizewinners at regional subject olympiads, with 11th-grade student Aruzhan Bolatkyzy winning 3rd place at the national stage in geography.

  • 10th-grade student Zhuldyzai Togyzbayeva advanced to the national round in law studies.

  • 3 students became winners of the regional stage of the National Scientific Project Competition.

  • 11th-grade student Nurtilеu Zhanbyrbay qualified for the national stage of the “Leader of the 21st Century” intellectual competition.


UNT and Graduate Achievements:
In the 2023–2024 academic year, all 73 graduates took the Unified National Testing (UNT), achieving a 100% participation rate.
The average score was 92.6. A total of 57 students were awarded state educational grants.
10 students received the “Altyn Belgi” distinction, and 11 students earned “Certificates of Excellence.”
