There have been personnel changes at the Fund for sustainable development of education (FURO), part of the aitas foundation. Sabyrzhan Kenshilik, who previously headed the project "Capacity building of hub schools in rural areas," has been appointed acting head of the fund.
Daniyar Toktarbayev, who led FURO for four years, will continue his professional work in the business division of the aitas holding, where he will be responsible for external communications and relations with government bodies (GR).
Over seven years of work in the holding's social division, including four years as head of FURO, Daniyar Toktarbayev, together with his team and partners, made a significant contribution to the development of rural education in Kazakhstan.
During this period, about 64 billion tenge was raised for the development of hub schools, and a large-scale education network was built across the country. One of the landmark achievements was the school in the village of Uryl in East Kazakhstan Region receiving the international Google reference school status, the first in Central Asia.
In addition, FURO's project on developing small rural schools was included in the HundrED Global Collection 2026, a list of the world's 100 leading education innovations.
Acting head of FURO Sabyrzhan Kenshilik has 15 years of experience in the public sector. He has worked at the fund for the last three years, two of which he spent leading one of its key areas, the project "Capacity building of hub schools in rural areas."
During his time at FURO, Sabyrzhan Kenshilik gained a deep understanding of the fund's projects, the partnerships it has built, and the needs of rural schools. His appointment will ensure continuity in implementing current initiatives and allow the fund to continue its systematic work on developing quality and accessible education in rural areas.
The Fund for sustainable development of education continues to pursue its mission of creating equal educational opportunities for children in Kazakhstan, regardless of where they live.
