In 2022, the Ayagoz Multidisciplinary Kazakh School-Gymnasium became one of the resource schools. At the August Summit held in Osakarovka, school director Ainur Kanapyanova spoke about the changes that have taken place in the rural school.
The gymnasium enrolls about 1,300 children. In 2022, the school became a participant in the project "Enhancing the Potential of Resource Schools in Rural Areas," implemented by the Education Development Support Fund, the "Қазақстан халқына" Foundation, the Aitas holding, and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. That same year, Ainur Aulesovna assumed the position of director through rotation. She had long wanted the school to join the network of resource schools. That same year, Ainur Aulesovna assumed the position of director through rotation. She had long wanted the school to join the network of resource schools. According to her, participation in the project received tremendous support not only from teachers, but also from parents:
"Joining the network of resource schools became a major impetus for the region and strengthened parents' trust. When all the equipment was brought into the gym for the first time, local residents and parents found out about it. They came and helped carry all the inventory into the classrooms. They rushed to make use of all the equipment and helped the staff until evening," says Ainur Aulesovna.

For three years, the school's teachers underwent professional development courses provided by Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. In a short time, the professional level of the teachers rose, and the students' achievements became a source of pride:
"In 2022, 56% of our teachers held the level of moderator, expert, or researcher. That means half of the staff did not have special qualification categories. Today, this figure has reached 79%. This year, we won the '100 Best Schools' competition, received the title of the best secondary education organization in the Abai Region, and a special grant. In addition, our students became winners of the STEM Skills Hackathon organized by the United Nations Development Programme and received a prize of $3,000," shares the director.
The gymnasium's students began to participate more frequently in regional and national Olympiads and competitions. The average Unified National Testing (UNT) score rose from 71 to 82. Teachers at the resource school are also establishing ongoing cooperation with small-scale schools. Their indicators have also improved: the Aksheuli school took 3rd place at the international scientific robotics competition, the Mailin school took 3rd place at the national scientific projects competition "Zerde," and the Mynbulak school took 2nd place at the national Mukagali readings.
"Our school not only embraces changes, but also knows how to embody them, striving for development. This is not a result that happened by itself. It is the fruit of the joint work of a team that was not afraid of change, innovative teachers, trusting parents, motivated students, and, most importantly, the project partners who created all the conditions. Thanks to this project, we see a real example of development not just for the school, but for the entire village. Therefore, our main goal is to live up to the trust placed in us and provide future generations with a quality education," emphasizes the director.
As a reminder, in 2019, the Aitas holding and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools developed a strategy to create a national network of rural resource schools and launched the "Rural School Powered by NIS" project. In 2022, the project became national with the support of the "Қазақстан халқына" Foundation, and its operator became the Education Development Support Fund. The project "Enhancing the Potential of Resource Schools in Rural Regions" aims to establish resource schools in every district and city of the country. Today, about 50 billion tenge in charitable funds has been directed to 192 rural resource schools.
