From February to March 2026, the Foundation for sustainable development of education (FURO), together with the higher school of humanities at Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU), delivered a professional development program for teaching and management staff of rural hub schools.
The training was held as part of the project "Capacity building of hub schools in rural areas." Participants included school principals, deputy principals, and methodologists from district education departments in Aktobe and North Kazakhstan regions.
The main goal of the program was to develop analytical thinking and skills for making informed decisions based on educational data. Particular attention was paid to using artificial intelligence tools to analyze learning outcomes, improve teaching, and make school management more effective.
The program included four thematic modules totaling 10 hours. Participants studied methods for analyzing and visualizing educational data, tools for assessing the quality of lessons and their own teaching practice, and approaches to developing critical thinking and verifying the reliability of information. A separate module was devoted to the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence, including personal data protection, fairness of decisions, and responsible use of digital tools.
The training was delivered by experts Leila Shora, Sanzhar Kalkanbay, Anna Tonkikh, Markhabat Ramazanova, and Nazym Bozymbayeva.
The program is aimed at shifting from intuitive decision-making to an evidence-based approach in education, in which teachers and school leaders use data to identify problems, plan changes, and assess their effectiveness.
The cooperation between FURO and Maqsut Narikbayev University is another step in developing the professional competencies of rural teachers and management teams, which are needed for a sustainable improvement in the quality of education in the regions of Kazakhstan.
