What is MIT Global Teaching Labs?
A program of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where MIT students visit schools abroad to teach STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
What do students gain?
• Classes with native speakers
• A fresh perspective on science
• Interactive lessons and experiments
• Cultural exchange
What does a school need to participate?
• A safe and comfortable environment
• The ability to provide accommodation (e.g., with local families)
• Basic English proficiency among teachers and students
• Readiness for cultural exchange
How to apply?
By August 15 — confirm readiness to host students
Prepare the application:
• Information about the school
• Expected benefits for students
• Contact details
• Financial readiness ($5,000 sponsorship or self-funding)
• Submit the application through MIT MISTI
Why do this?
Katon-Karagai School became the first rural school in Kazakhstan to participate in the MIT program. Students improved their English, and students from the USA even started learning Kazakh!
