Monitoring of School Students Knowledge of the “Rural Schools Powered by NIS” Project to Have Started

The Center for Pedagogical Measurements of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools autonomous educational organization monitors the educational achievements of 629 students of 4th, 8th grades of five rural schools participating in the Rural Schools Powered by NIS project.
“Students' results undergo statistical processing and psychometric analysis, on the basis of which individual detailed reports and detailed reports at the school level are generated. These reports will enable tracking the trajectory of the success of each student's education and provide them with timely support,” Zamirbekkyzy Maslikhat, manager of the Monitoring and External Summative Assessment Department of the NIS Center for Pedagogical Measurements branch, sad.
Monitoring for 4th grade students is carried out in the subjects “Mathematics”, “Natural Science and Learning the World”, “Kazakh/Russian language (Ya1)”, and for 8th grades in the subjects “Mathematics”, “Kazakh/Russian language (Ya1)”, “Kazakh/Russian language (Ya2)”, “English”, “Biology”, “Physics”, “Chemistry”. Test tasks are developed and examined by experts of the Center for Pedagogical Measurements. The duration of testing for each subject is 40 minutes.
Monitoring of educational achievements of students in 4th and 8th grades of rural schools is carried out in the period from April 24 to April 28, 2023, in an online format.
The tasks used permit to assess not only the level of acquisition of the curriculum, but also the development of high-order skills (analysis, synthesis and evaluation), reading literacy (in language subjects).
“Rural School Powered by NIS” is a charity project for the development of rural schools implemented by the Sustainable Development Fund, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools at the expense of businessman Serik Tolukpayev and AITAS Holding. 5 schools participate in the project: Secondary school in Ulken Naryn village, S. Lastayev Secondary school in Katon-Karagai village, Secondary school in Uryl village of Katon-Karagai district, R. Marsekov secondary school of Ulan district of East Kazakhstan region and the gymnasium school in Makinsk of Akmola region.
