Development of the Potential of Anchor Schools in Rural Areas
The project aims to enhance the potential of support schools by implementing the best teaching and learning methods and technologies, upgrading the schools’ material and technical infrastructure, creating a favorable educational environment, ensuring continuous professional development and collaborative interaction among teachers, and providing essential methodological support to improve the quality of education.
On July 14, 2022, the "Kazakhstan Khalkyna" Foundation, the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools signed a memorandum to implement the project "Development of the Potential of Anchor Schools in Rural Areas".
With the support of the "Kazakhstan Khalkyna" Foundation, the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education scaled the project from 5 to 22 schools and expanded transformations to new districts across the country. This includes 17 support schools that have been improved according to the fund's strategic plan. In 2023, an additional 63 support schools joined the project.
Our goal is to reach all 167 districts and 27 single-industry towns across the country by 2026, and we are open to collaboration with strategic partners and sponsors. The Fund for Sustainable Development of Education adheres to the principles of systemic approach and transparency in its work.

From 2022 to 2024, a network of 135 schools was established, with 4,665 modernized classrooms equipped. In 2025, an additional 56 schools will join the project, upgrading 1,935 more classrooms. The network of support schools will then include 191 schools, with a total of 6,600 modernized classrooms.
A total of 47.75 billion tenge in social investments has been attracted for the modernization of the material and technical base of the schools included in the project.
