Hub Schools to Present in Akmola Region On the Day of Knowledge

In the new academic year, Zerendy and Astrakhan rural schools of Akmola region have been modernized in accordance with modern requirements. On September 01, the Day of Knowledge, an Open Day has been held in schools.
These hub schools are participants of the Development of the Potential of Hub Schools in Rural Areas project of Kazakhstan Khalkyna fund, AITAS Holding, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AOE and the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education. KZT250 million has been allocated for each school in the region, and their material and technical base has been completely updated.
The project is aimed to eliminate the disparity in the quality of education between rural and urban schools. 18 classrooms have been modernized at comprehensive secondary school No. 1 in Astrakhanka village, and 344 students are studying here this year. 34 classrooms have been updated at Malik Gabdullin gymnasium in Zerenda village, 304 children are studying here.
Each school has pre-school classes, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science classrooms, specially equipped classrooms for elementary, middle and high schools, technology classrooms for girls and boys, as well as robotics classrooms, ART studios, STEM laboratories, Intellectum, music and TV studios.
In addition to logistical support, educational programs and methodological support are provided to the teaching staff of schools. Together with Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, large-scale work is being carried out to improve the skills of teachers of hub schools. This methodological support will continue for the next three years.
It should be noted that this year 56 rural schools in Kazakhstan will be connected to the hub schools network. The Potential Development of the Hub Schools in Rural Areas project was launched in 2022. It aims to reduce the education gap between rural and urban schools. The operator of the project was the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, the sponsors are the Kazakhstan Khalkyna Fund and the AITAS holding. The general partner of the project is Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO, which has taken over the academic part.
